NFL Week 10: Despite Chiefs’ Presence, “MNF” Overnight Not Bad

Even with the moribund Kansas City Chiefs on the schedule, the latest edition of “Monday Night Football” earned solid numbers.

The Week 10 edition of “Monday Night Football,” pitting the 1-7 Chiefs against the Steelers, earned a 9.0 overnight rating on ESPN — down 2% from Vikings/Packers last year (9.2), and down 14% from Eagles/Washington in 2010 (10.5).

The 9.0 overnight is the fifth-lowest of the season for “MNF” (eleven telecasts), ahead of only Bengals/Ravens (8.1) and Chargers/Raiders (7.9) in Week 1, Lions/Bears in Week 7 (7.3), and 49ers/Cardinals in Week 8 (8.3).

Locally, Chiefs/Steelers drew a 45.5 in Pittsburgh (14.2 on ESPN, 31.3 on local affiliate) and a 34.3 in Kansas City (15.1 on ESPN, 19.1 on local affiliate).
