Week 12 Wrap: CBS’ Texans/Lions Has Biggest Decline of Thanksgiving Day

CBS was the only network to suffer a double-digit decline for NFL action on Thanksgiving Day.

The Week 12 Texans/Lions NFL regular season game drew 27.3 million viewers on CBS, down 10% from Packers/Lions on FOX last year (30.2M), and down 2% from Patriots/Lions on CBS in 2010 (27.8M). Final ratings for the game were not immediately available.

Texans/Lions had the biggest decline in viewership of the three Thanksgiving Day NFL telecasts on CBS, FOX and NBC.

In addition, the 27.3 million viewers ranks as the smallest audience for the early afternoon Thanksgiving Day window since Packers/Lions in ’09 (22.0M).

With that said, the game still ranks as the third-most viewed NFL telecast of the season, trailing only Broncos/Steelers on NBC in Week 1 (27.6) and Washington/Dallas in the late afternoon Thanksgiving Day window (28.7M).
