NBC did well enough, considering the circumstances, for last week’s “Sunday Night Football” blowout.
The Week 12 Packers/Giants “Sunday Night Football” game drew a 12.6 final rating and 20.9 million viewers on NBC, up 2% in ratings and 3% in viewership from Steelers/Chiefs last year (12.3, 20.3M), and up 11% and 9%, respectively, from Chargers/Colts in 2010 (11.4, 19.1M).
Like Patriots/Jets on Thanksgiving night, Packers/Giants was a blowout. Still, Sunday’s battle between the last two Super Bowl champions attracted over one million more viewers than Thursday’s clash of AFC rivals.
Among adults 18-49, Packers/Giants earned a 7.6 rating — actually down 4% from last year (7.9).
For the week, Packers/Giants was the top primetime program on broadcast in ratings, viewership and adults 18-49.
