Week 9 Wrap: Back-to-Back Season Lows For NFL Network

For the second straight week, “Thursday Night Football” hit a season-low on NFL Network — and this time, the World Series was no excuse.

The Week 9 Chiefs/Chargers “Thursday Night Football” game drew a 3.0 U.S. rating and 4.795 million viewers on NFL Network, ranking as the lowest rated and least-viewed NFL telecast of the season.

The previous lows were a 3.2 and 5.165 million viewers for Buccaneers/Vikings the previous Thursday, which aired opposite the World Series.

Last week’s game faced no such competition. The only other high-profile sporting event that night, the Nets’ much-hyped home opener against the Knicks on TNT, was canceled due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy.
