- “First Take” Talker Suspended: ESPN has suspended an on-air pundit indefinitely for racial comments about Washington NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III. The pundit, “ESPN First Take” panelist Rob Parker, said during Thursday’s edition of the show that Griffin III was distancing himself from other African Americans for engaging in an interracial relationship and purportedly being a Republican. - Merchant to Call Final Bout For HBO: Longtime HBO boxing commentator Larry Merchant, whose contract expires at the end of the year, will make his final regular appearance as an analyst for the network this Saturday. Merchant will continue to appear on the network for the next three years to comment on major boxing news. (Los Angeles Times)
