Led by the Heisman Trophy Presentation, ESPN scored impressive numbers for college football programming Saturday night.

The 2012 Heisman Trophy Presentation earned a 3.1 overnight rating on ESPN Saturday night, up 7% from last year (2.9), and up 29% from 2010 (2.4).

According to Sports Business Daily, the 3.1 overnight is the second-best ever for the Heisman presentation, trailing only a 3.6 in 2009.

Later in the night, the ESPN “30 For 30″ documentary “You Don’t Know Bo” drew a 2.3 overnight — up 44% from “The Marinovich Project” last year (1.6), and up 28% from “Pony Excess” in 2010 (1.8).

The 2.3 overnight is the highest ever for a documentary on ESPN, topping the previous record of 2.0 set by “The Fab Five” in 2011.
