TV Ratings: Knicks Hit Season-High on MSG (Also: NCAA Volleyball, Idaho Potato Bowl)


MSG Network hit a season-high for Monday’s Rockets/Knicks game. In other news, the NCAA women’s volleyball championship game dropped from last year, and the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl had a double-digit increase.

  • Rockets/Knicks Hits MSG Season-High: Monday’s Rockets/Knicks NBA regular season game drew a 4.8 rating on MSG Network in the New York market, the highest Knicks rating of the season on the network. Excluding the first week of the season, when the New York market was affected by Hurricane Sandy, MSG has averaged a 3.4 rating for Knicks telecasts this season (18 telecasts) — up 85% from the same number of games last season (1.8).   • NCAA Volleyball Title Game Down From ’11: Saturday’s Texas/Oregon NCAA women’s volleyball national title game drew a 0.4 U.S. rating and 601,000 viewers on ESPN, down a tick in ratings and 11% in viewership from UCLA/Illinois last year (0.5, 637K). (ESPN)
