The latest edition of the “UFC on FOX” earned solid numbers on FOX Saturday night. In other news, the finale of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating had a double-digit drop in overnights, and ESPN had a big increase for Friday’s Lakers/Thunder NBA game.
- UFC Rebounds on FOX: The fifth edition of the “UFC on FOX” drew a 2.8 overnight rating Saturday night, up 65% from the fourth edition in August, which aired opposite the Olympics (1.7), and up 65% from the third edition in May (1.7). The 2.8 is the second-best UFC overnight on FOX, trailing only a 3.5 for the inaugural edition in November 2011. - Overnights Drop For ISU Grand Prix Final: Coverage of the season-ending ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating final earned a 0.7 overnight rating on NBC, down 22% from last year (0.9), and down 42% from 2010 (1.2). The 0.7 overnight is the lowest for the Grand Prix final since NBC began televising the event in 2009. (Weekend overnights from Sports Business Daily)
- Lakers/Thunder Strong on ESPN: Friday’s Lakers/Thunder NBA regular season game drew 2.7 million viewers on ESPN, up 81% from Mavericks/Jazz in 2010 (1.5M), and up 7% from Heat/Lakers in 2009 (2.5M). The game ranks as the third-most viewed NBA telecast of the season on ESPN. Earlier in the night, Celtics/Sixers drew 1.4 million, down 41% from Bulls/Celtics in 2010 (2.4M), and down 26% from Bulls/Cavaliers in 2009 (1.9M).
