Ratings and viewership dropped for the final “Saturday Night Football” game of the season. In other news, Oklahoma/TCU led the way on ESPN/ESPN2 last week, and CBS’ college basketball season debut was down substantially from last year.

  • Modest Drop For ABC’s Texas/K-State Game: The season finale of ABC’s “Saturday Night Football,” pitting Texas against Kansas State, earned a 3.3 final rating and 5.2 million viewers last week — down 8% in ratings and 12% in viewership from Oklahoma/Oklahoma State last year (3.6, 5.9M), and down 38% and 42%, respectively, from the Oklahoma/Nebraska Big 12 Championship Game in 2010 (5.3, 9.0M). The game earned the second-best college football audience of the week, trailing only the SEC title game on CBS. (Weekend numbers from Sports Business Daily)
  • OU/TCU Leads the Way on ESPN: Last week’s Noon ET Oklahoma/TCU college football game drew a 2.3 U.S. rating and 3.3 million viewers on ESPN, the top college football audience of the week on ESPN or ESPN2.
