Despite Delays, Overnight Ratings Up Big For Tiger at Torrey Pines

No matter the round, Tiger Woods leading on a Sunday afternoon is ratings gold for PGA broadcast partners.

Third round coverage of the PGA Tour Farmers Insurance Open drew a 3.7 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, up 85% from final round coverage last year (2.0), and even with final round coverage in 2011 (3.7).

The 3.7 is tied as the highest for any round of the tournament since Woods’ most recent victory in 2008 (4.6).

The third round was pushed back from Saturday due to weather. Even so, Saturday’s coverage drew a 1.6 overnight — up 46% from last year (1.1).

CBS will air final round coverage on Monday at 4 PM ET.
