NFL Playoffs: Despite Double-OT Thriller, Ravens/Broncos Down Slightly on CBS

Overnight ratings declined slightly for Saturday’s classic between the Ravens and Broncos.

The Ravens/Broncos AFC Divisional Round game drew a 21.6 overnight rating on CBS Saturday, down a tick from Saints/49ers on FOX last year (21.7), but up 4% from Ravens/Steelers in 2011 (20.9).

Despite the narrow decline, the 21.6 ranks as the second-highest for any Saturday Divisional Round game since at least the 1997-98 season.

Ravens/Broncos earned a higher overnight than the Packers/49ers game on FOX later in the evening, marking the eighth time in twelve years that the Saturday afternoon Divisional Round game has outdrawn the Saturday night game.

It should be pointed out that CBS has already released the fast-national ratings for Saturday’s game. Like the overnight, the final numbers for Ravens/Broncos declined from Saints/49ers last year.
