For the second straight year, the Saturday night Wild Card game on NBC slipped from the previous season.
The Vikings/Packers NFC Wild Card game drew an 18.3 overnight rating on NBC Saturday night, down 5% from Lions/Saints last year (19.2), and down 12% from Jets/Colts in 2011 (20.8).
The 18.3 is tied as the lowest overnight for the late Saturday Wild Card window since Jaguars/Steelers in 2008 (16.7). After three straight years of increases, overnights for the late Saturday game have now declined in two consecutive years.
Saturday’s game tied the highest NFL overnight of the 2012-13 campaign, matching the Week 17 Dallas/Washington “Sunday Night Football” game on NBC six days earlier (18.3).
Locally, the Packers’ blowout win drew a 52.3 rating in Milwaukee and a 43.7 in Minneapolis.
