TV Ratings: Dodgers Hit Four-Year High (Also: More MLB, Gold Cup)


The Los Angeles Dodgers hit a four-year high in local television ratings on Monday night. In other news, ratings have increased for the Cleveland Indians, and the 2013 Gold Cup soccer tournament opened with double-digit declines on Univision.

Dodgers Hit Four-Year Ratings High

  • Monday’s Dodgers/Diamondbacks Major League Baseball game drew a 4.1 rating on Fox Sports Prime Ticket in the Los Angeles market, a season-high and the network’s best Dodgers rating since 2009. The Dodgers’ season average has improved by 6% since mid-June. (Fox Sports)

Modest Increase For Indians on STO

  • SportsTime Ohio earned an 8.5 rating for Monday’s Tigers/Indians game, the network’s second-highest Indians rating of the season. So far this season, Indians games have averaged a 5.3 rating on STO, up 9% from last year. (Fox Sports)

Slower Start For Gold Cup on Univision

  • Sunday’s Mexico/Panama Gold Cup match drew 3.3 million viewers on Univision, down 21% from Mexico/El Salvador on opening night in 2011 (4.2M). The 2011 match drew better numbers despite facing competition from the NBA Finals. Earlier Sunday, Canada/Martinique drew 1.2 million — down 27% from Costa Rica/Cuba in 2011 (1.7M).
