The unofficial start of the 2013-14 NFL season attracted solid preliminary numbers on NBC.

The Cowboys/Dolphins NFL Hall of Fame Game drew a 6.7 overnight rating on NBC Sunday night, down a tick from the network’s first preseason game last year — Colts/Steelers in Week 2 (6.8).

Last year’s Hall of Fame Game aired on NFL Network due to NBC’s coverage of the Olympics.

The last time the Hall of Fame Game aired on NBC (2010), the game between the Cowboys and Bengals earned a 7.6 overnight.

Overall, the 6.7 overnight ranks as the third-lowest for the Hall of Fame Game on broadcast TV since at least 1999 (overnights prior to 2000 were not available).
