- TBS MLB analyst John Smoltz is reportedly one of the “leading candidates” to replace the retiring Tim McCarver on FOX MLB broadcasts next season. Sports Illustrated reported Sunday that Smoltz, Turner colleague Tom Verducci, and MLB Network analyst Harold Reynolds are among the names under consideration. Reynolds, it should be noted, regularly appears on FOX as part of the network’s MLBN-produced pregame show. (SI.com)
- NBC Sports personality Michelle Beadle is seeking to leave the network and potentially return to ESPN, The Big Lead reported Friday. Beadle, whose daily talk show “The Crossover” was canceled last week, has “butted heads” with NBCSN executive producer Sam Flood, according to the report. (The Big Lead)
- Former ESPN NBA analyst George Karl has returned to the network in the same capacity, it was announced Monday. Karl, the reigning NBA Coach of the Year, will serve as an analyst on “SportsCenter” and several NBA studio shows. He is scheduled to make his debut on Saturday’s 11 PM ET edition of the show.
