A battle at the top of the NFC West earned strong numbers on FOX last week.
The NFL national window, featuring Seahawks/49ers, earned a 16.2 final rating and 27.6 million viewers on FOX Sunday afternoon — up 9% in ratings and 13% in viewership from coverage featuring Giants/Saints last year (14.8, 24.5M), and up 28% and 33%, respectively, from coverage featuring Raiders/Packers on CBS in 2011 (12.7, 20.8M).
The telecast ranks as the fifth-highest rated and seventh-most viewed of the season on any network. Among FOX telecasts only, Sunday’s national window ranked third and fourth, respectively, for the season.
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring the Lions/Eagles ‘Snow Bowl’ earned a 10.0 final rating and 16.4 million viewers — down 3% in ratings and up 1% in viewership from coverage featuring Cowboys/Bengals last year (10.3, 16.3M), and up 7% and 13%, respectively, from coverage on CBS in 2011 (9.3, 14.5M).
The 10.0 rating is the highest of the season for the early doubleheader window.
