NBC Sports has found a replacement for Alex Flanagan on its Notre Dame football coverage. In other news, Turner Sports has promoted an executive and the NFL AM morning show will soon have new hosts.
- NHL Network host Kathryn Tappen has joined NBC Sports to cover various sports in multiple capacities. Most notably, she will replace Alex Flanagan as the sideline reporter for NBC’s Notre Dame football coverage and report on-site from afternoon NFL football games for the Football Night in America pregame show. As one would expect, she will also serve as a backup studio host for NHL coverage on the NBC networks. Tappen will continue to work on NHL Network. (NBC Sports Group Press Box)
- Turner Sports EVP and COO Lenny Daniels has been promoted to president of the division, filling the vacancy left when David Levy was promoted to president of the entire company last year. Daniels has been with Turner since 1996. (Turner Sports)
- NFL Network has hired Rhett Lewis and Erin Coscarelli as the new hosts of its NFL AM morning show, Awful Announcing reported Thursday. Previous host Nicole Zaloumis departed last month to spend time with her family. (Awful Announcing)
