Another Low Rating For Primetime Baseball on FOX

Ratings have been less than impressive for ‘Baseball Night in America’ on FOX.

Regional Major League Baseball action featuring Phillies/Cardinals in 47% of TV markets earned a 1.7 final rating and 2.615 million viewers on FOX Saturday night, down 39% in ratings and 43% in viewership from primetime coverage featuring Mets/Yankees last season (2.8, 4.551M), and flat in ratings and up 4% in viewership from afternoon coverage featuring Cardinals/Cubs in 2010 (1.7, 2.504M).

The telecast ranks as the lowest rated and least-viewed primetime regular season MLB telecast ever on FOX (nine telecasts). The previous low was set one week earlier (1.9, 2.913M).

So far, the first two primetime telecasts on FOX this season have suffered double-digit declines compared to primetime coverage a year earlier, and both games have failed to draw at least a 2.0 rating.

I personally love watching Baseball and FOX’s ratings might
be low now, but as soon as play-off season gets here the ratings will jump sky
    high.
