The Kings have had just one moment in the sun in the past two decades, finishing as the #3 seed in the West and taking Stephen Curry‘s defending champion Warriors to seven games in 2023. But that remains the team’s only playoff appearance since 2006. Last season, Sacramento fans watched as the coach of that 2023 team Mike Brown and its point guard De’Aaron Fox faced off in the NBA Finals. The Kings will have to hope lottery pick Darius Acuff Jr. does not have to go elsewhere for postseason success.
Not counting NBA TV, Sacramento has just two games on national TV this season, down sharply from nine when the schedule was released last year. That includes a matchup against Golden State on the NBC broadcast network — one of the 11 PM ET regional games the network carries on Tuesday nights — and one against Denver on Peacock and NBCSN.
