NFL Playoffs: Seattle/Washington Earns Third-Best Wild Card Overnight Since ’99

A pair of high-profile rookies could not lift the overnights for Sunday’s clash between Seattle and Washington.

The Seahawks/Washington NFC Wild Card game drew a 23.7 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon, down 9% from Steelers/Broncos on CBS last year (25.9), and down 3% from Packers/Eagles on FOX in 2011 (24.4).

The 23.7 is the lowest for the late Sunday Wild Card window since Packers/Cardinals in 2010 (21.8). This marks the first time since 2008 that overnight ratings declined for the late Sunday window.

Despite the declines, Sunday’s 23.7 overnight ranks as the third-highest for any NFL Wild Card game since the 1998-99 season.
