MLB TV Ratings Stagnant on FOX

0

Television ratings for MLB on FOX seem to have settled into a not-so-good groove.

Regional MLB action on FOX earned a 1.4 final rating and 2.2 million viewers last Saturday, matching the previous two weeks. Compared to last year, the telecast declined 30% in ratings and 29% in viewership from a 2.0 and 3.1 million.

Compared to the fifth telecast of last season — afternoon coverage on May 4 — ratings and viewership increased 17% and 16%, respectively.

MLB on FOX has finished below a 1.5 rating in each of its five weeks on air this season, a distinction made worse by the fact that every telecast has aired in primetime. This season already accounts for the five lowest rated MLB windows ever on primetime broadcast TV.

Unlike previous weeks, MLB on FOX did not air directly opposite a major sporting event.
