With the undefeated Packers facing the big market Giants, the Week 13 NFL national window scored impressive numbers on FOX.
The Week 13 NFL national window, featuring Packers/Giants in 77% of TV markets, earned a 17.6 final rating and 29.774 million viewers on FOX December 4, up 8% in ratings and 9% in viewership from Week 13 last year (DAL/IND*: 16.3, 27.428M), and up 6% and 7%, respectively, from Week 13 in 2009 (DAL/NYG*: 16.6, 27.834M).
The 17.6 rating is not just a season-high, but ranks as the highest rating for a regular season NFL telecast on a single network since the Week 14 national window in 2007 (PIT/NE*: 18.4, CBS). The previous four-year high was a 17.5 for last year’s Week 14 national window on CBS.
Viewership for the telecast was the third-highest of the season, behind only the Thanksgiving Day games on FOX and CBS.
Earlier in the day, regional NFL action featuring Broncos/Vikings in 61% of markets earned an 8.8 and 14.453 million viewers, down 10% in ratings and 8% in viewership from last year (WSH/NYG*: 9.8, 15.768M), and down 1% and up 1%, respectively from 2009 (PHI/ATL*: 8.9, 14.367M).
