Thursday Night Football viewership is trending at the highest point in five years, though the latest edition was off slightly from a year ago.
The latest edition of NFL Thursday Night Football (Texans-Jets) averaged 11.56 million viewers on Amazon Prime Video, down slightly from Titans-Steelers last year (11.65M). Compared to Eagles-Texans in 2022, viewership soared 47% — but that game aired opposite a World Series contest featuring the baseball teams from both participating cities.
The Jets’ win, which peaked with 13.16 million in the 9:15 PM ET quarter-hour, posted the second-smallest TNF audience this season — ahead of only Broncos-Saints opposite MLB League Championship Series games two weeks earlier (9.81). All other TNF games this season have averaged at least 12 million viewers.
TNF is now averaging 13 million viewers this season, up 4% from the same point last year (12.52M) and the highest at this point of the season since 2019 on FOX and NFL Network (13.1M).
The series is averaging 2.74 million viewers among adults 18-34 and 6.17 million in adults 18-49, both up 3% from 2.65 and 6.00 million respectively last year. Its median age is now 48, the same as last year and still considerably younger than the linear NFL broadcasters (55) and the rest of primetime television (63).
Additional Week 10 NFL figures were delayed as of Tuesday evening. ESPN said Tuesday that Buccaneers-Chiefs averaged more than 20 million viewers on Monday Night Football, per Nielsen fast-nationals, but an exact figure was not immediately available.
