Over the last several years, baseball fans have had to navigate significant changes in finding and accessing local broadcasts for their favorite teams. The 2026 season features an all-time high 14 MLB franchises opting for the league to produce and distribute their local game broadcasts rather than a regional sports network. Other franchises have tried to modify the RSN model by launching their own networks distributed across cable, satellite and streaming outlets.
Much of this change can be traced back to the demise of Diamond Sports Group, a then-Sinclair subsidiary that entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March 2023 amid a significant debt load and industry headwinds. Throughout the proceedings, the company dropped rights for several MLB teams and emerged after 20 months as Main Street Sports Group, containing “a stronger balance sheet, key partnerships [and] supportive new owners.”
Approximately one year later, the nine remaining MLB franchises in the Main Street portfolio terminated their contracts and moved on to new television homes. Six of the teams joined the MLB Media portfolio, while two others are launching their own regional sports networks. ESPN holds the in-market streaming rights for teams with MLB-produced local broadcasts under its new three-year media rights deal.
Just before Diamond’s bankruptcy filing, Warner Bros. Discovery reportedly started to notify teams that it was exiting the RSN business. The media conglomerate divested its interests before the 2024 season, resulting in the Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Pirates taking ownership stakes in new multi-team RSNs. The Colorado Rockies ended up joining the MLB Local Media portfolio, while the Seattle Mariners took full control of ROOT Sports, which it shuttered two seasons later.
With the 2026 regular season set to begin, Sports Media Watch has compiled a guide to finding and accessing local broadcasts for the 30 MLB franchises.

The team traded for 3B Nolan Arenado, who joins a lineup featuring other veteran presences such as 2B Ketel Marte and OF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Diamondbacks baseball commences on Thursday, March 26 with an Opening Day matchup on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers exclusively on NBC and Peacock.

Athletics baseball begins north of the border against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday, March 27.

Atlanta Braves
The Braves are taking over the production and distribution of their local game broadcasts through the new BravesVision platform this season. The organization could look to expand the venture into a multi-team RSN that could feature the Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies and Nashville Predators, per a report by Tom Friend of Sports Business Journal. Some regular-season games will be available over the air through a partnership with Gray Media as well.
The Braves were the only team to join the league in filing an objection against Diamond Sports Group’s reorganization plan when the company was in Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Atlanta Braves Holdings chairman/president/CEO Terry McGuirk said in an earnings call last month that the organization has confidence with BravesVision, affirming that Main Street was now “out of the way.” The Braves were one of nine MLB teams to leave Main Street this offseason amid reported financial struggles for the company.
In-market streaming plans for BravesVision are available through MLB’s Braves.TV platform for $20/month or $100/season. Radio broadcasts remain available on Sports Radio 680 The Fan and 93.7 FM, owned by Dickey Broadcasting, along with a variety of other stations across the team’s radio network. Ben Ingram and Joe Simpson will call the games on radio, while television broadcasts feature Brandon Gaudin, C.J. Nitkowski and Wiley Ballard.
The Braves organization is five years removed from a World Series championship and still has some key position players on the roster, including OF Ronald Acuña Jr. and 3B Austin Riley. The team missed the postseason for the first time in seven seasons last year, finishing fourth in the National League East with a 76-86 (.469) record. Atlanta starts the 2026 season at home on Friday, March 27 against the Kansas City Royals.

Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles franchise owns the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) and is the only team continuing to broadcast games on the channel. MASN had previously broadcast Washington Nationals games when the team moved from Montréal, Québec in 2005, but the organization alleged seven years later that the network was not paying the fair market value for its television rights. The Orioles and Nationals organizations resolved disputes pertaining to MASN last March, dismissing “all litigation” and granting the Nationals ability to exit its deal with the network ahead of the 2026 season.
In-market streaming for Orioles games is available through MASN+ for $20/month or $100/season, and the service is available as an annual subscription for $180. MLB is also distributing MASN+ through a partnership with the RSN. Radio broadcasts continue to air on Hearst-owned 98 Rock FM and WBAL NewsRadio AM/FM, along with other affiliates in the region.
Radio broadcasters for the Orioles feature play-by-play announcers Brett Hollander, Ben Wagner and Josh Lewin, the latter of whom is making his return to MLB broadcasts for the first time since 2019. Kevin Brown will continue serving as the team’s television play-by-play announcer and work alongside analyst Jim Palmer. Ryan Ripken is also joining the fold for select games as an analyst.
The Orioles enter the 2026 season with a revamped roster after falling short of the postseason last year with a 75-87 (.463) record, finishing last in the American League East. The lineup features new 1B Pete Alonso and OF Taylor Ward in addition to returning young stars such as SS Gunnar Henderson and C Adley Rutschman. Baltimore opens the season at home on Thursday, March 26 against the Minnesota Twins.

Boston Red Sox
Fenway Sports Group holds majority ownership of the Boston Red Sox and New England Sports Network (NESN), which has televised local games since its launch in 1984. NESN is available to view through most major television service providers and provides an in-market streaming option, NESN 360, priced at $30/month or $240/year.
WEEI continues to serve as the flagship radio home of the Red Sox featuring play-by-play announcer Will Flemming, who took over full-time duties last season following the retirement of Joe Castiglione. The primary television broadcast crew on NESN features play-by-play announcer Dave O’Brien with analyst Lou Merloni and reporter Jahmai Webster. NESN is also going to debut a new open and graphics package this season.
The Red Sox enter the 2026 season after finishing third in the American League East with an 89-73 (.549) record. Although the franchise snapped a three-year postseason drought, the quest for a 10th World Series championship ended in the Wild Card Round with a series loss to the rival New York Yankees. Boston starts the new season after acquiring veteran SP Sonny Gray and 1B Willson Contreras in addition to signing SP Ranger Suarez in free agency. The team opens the season on the road against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday, March 26 before returning home the following week.

Chicago Cubs
Before the Chicago Cubs officially launched Marquee Sports Network in 2020, most local games had been broadcast over the air for free on WGN-TV. Marquee, which was formed out of a joint venture with Sinclair Broadcast Group, quickly ran into a problem with distribution when it was unable to reach a deal with Comcast before its debut. The two entities eventually reached a multiyear accord just as MLB started its abbreviated 60-game season during the global pandemic. As has been the fate of many RSNs, Marquee is now offered in the higher-priced Xfinity Ultimate tier.
Cubs games on television have featured the broadcast team of play-by-play voice Jon “Boog” Sciambi with analyst Jim Deshaies and reporter Taylor McGregor since their move to Marquee. Sciambi and McGregor also work in national capacities with ESPN across a variety of different broadcasts. Marquee offers in-market streaming for $20/month, available to view through WatchMarquee online or the official mobile app.
Radio broadcasts with Pat Hughes and Ron Coomer are now available on FM, marking the first time since 2015 the team’s flagship broadcasts were available in this format. It should be noted that listeners have been able to tune in for broadcasts through the free Audacy app or 104.3 HD2 signal for several years. While The Score has rebranded around its new FM signal, the station still remains available on its traditional 670 AM feed.
The Cubs finished second in the National League Central division with a 92-70 (.586) record last season, but were eliminated in the NLDS against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Chicago’s N.L. franchise begins the season with new 3B Alex Bregman and other returning stars such as SP Justin Steele and OF Pete Crow-Armstrong. Cubs baseball begins at home on Thursday, March 26 against the Washington Nationals.

Chicago White Sox
The 2026 season marks the second year where Chicago White Sox local television broadcasts will be available on the Chicago Sports Network (CHSN), a joint venture created with the Bulls, Blackhawks and Standard Media. All three teams had previously aired games on NBC Sports Chicago but ended its operations after two decades with the launch of CHSN. Similar to its crosstown counterpart Marquee, CHSN did not reach a distribution deal with Comcast at launch. The sides came to an agreement after an eight-month dispute that placed CHSN on the more expensive Xfinity Ultimate tier.
CHSN programming is also available through in-market streaming for $30/month or $350/year, giving users access to live game broadcasts, studio shows and more. The network also offers a White Sox-only plan priced at $20/month.
White Sox television broadcasts feature play-by-play announcer John Schriffen with analyst Steve Stone and reporter Brooke Fletcher. Schriffen took over television responsibilities upon the departure of Jason Benetti when he took the play-by-play job with the Detroit Tigers in 2024. Before the team named Benetti as its new television announcer, Ken “Hawk” Harrelson had called games on television for more than three decades. Play-by-play voice Len Kasper has called games on radio for the last five seasons, working with longtime analyst Darrin Jackson.
The White Sox have not qualified for the postseason over the last four seasons, recently finishing last in the American League Central with a 60-102 (.370) record. Chicago’s A.L. team added several new players to the roster this offseason, including 3B Munetaka Murakami, RP Seranthony Domínguez and 2B Luisangel Acuña. The White Sox begin the new season on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday, March 26.

Cincinnati Reds
Cincinnati Reds games will not air on a traditional RSN this season for the first time since the early 1990s. The Reds, along with eight other MLB teams, departed Main Street Sports Group in the offseason as the company has experienced financial struggles and could reportedly face potential liquidation.
Reds games will now be produced and distributed through the MLB Local Media department. The Reds.TV in-market streaming solution is available through MLB’s platform for $20/month or $100/season. Fans out of market can subscribe to MLB.TV on a monthly or annual basis through ESPN and will receive a one-month free trial of ESPN Unlimited that can be canceled at any time. The Reds have also partnered with Gray Media and WXIX FOX19 to simulcast 10 regular-season games, all of which take place on Monday evenings with the exception of Opening Day.
Reds baseball is broadcast by flagship outlet 700WLW and disseminated to affiliates in the region. These broadcasts primarily feature play-by-play announcer Tommy Thrall with analyst Jeff Brantley. The television feed includes commentary from play-by-play voice John Sadak, analyst Barry Larkin and reporter Jim Day, who returns for his 25th season on the game broadcasts. Reds fans can also listen to former 1B Joey Votto on MLB coverage from NBC Sports this season as a studio analyst.
Reds baseball begins at home on Thursday, March 26 as the team hosts the visiting Boston Red Sox. Cincinnati finished third in the National League Central with an 83-79 (.512) record and narrowly made the postseason, but the team was quickly eliminated by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Veteran 3B Eugenio Suárez is back with the Reds after a few seasons playing elsewhere, joining a lineup with dynamic young talents in SS Elly De La Cruz and OF Noelvi Marte.

Cleveland Guardians
The Cleveland Guardians organization begins its second season airing television broadcasts through the MLB Local Media department. The team had previously aired games on Bally Sports Great Lakes until its contract expired after the 2024 regular season, and the sides did not reach a renewal. Despite the move, Guardians games have been available across several television distributors and are also available as an in-market streaming option on CleGuardians.TV. Akin to the other teams produced and distributed by MLB Local Media, in-market streaming is priced at $20/month or $100/season.
Television broadcasters for the Guardians include play-by-play announcer Matt Underwood, analyst Rick Manning and reporter Andre Knott. There are also several contributors who will be on air throughout the season, some of whom include Chris Gimenez, Cayleigh Griffin and Austin Jackson.
Play-by-play announcer Tom Hamilton enters his 37th season as the voice of Guardians baseball on the radio. Hamilton was honored by the National Baseball Hall of Fame last summer as the recipient of the prestigious Ford C. Frick Award for excellence in broadcasting. Hamilton will enter his 37th season behind the microphone and work with analyst Jim Rosenhaus on flagship station NewsRadio WTAM 1100.
The Guardians won a second consecutive American League East title last season, finishing with an 88-74 (.543) record, but the team fell in the Wild Card Round to the rival Detroit Tigers. The World Series drought for the Cleveland franchise has stretched past seven decades, currently the longest active championship drought in the league. Cleveland is bringing back a similar roster to last season and signed All-Star 3B José Ramírez to a seven-year contract extension. The Guardians open the season away against the Seattle Mariners on Thursday, March 26.

Colorado Rockies
MLB Local Media has produced and distributed Colorado Rockies games since the 2024 season after the team previously aired on AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain. Warner Bros. Discovery sought to exit the RSN business in 2023, but the network continued to televise programming until the end of the year. Although the Rockies are not part of a traditional RSN, other teams in the Denver metropolitan area, such as the Nuggets and Avalanche, air on Altitude Sports.
In-market streaming for Rockies games is available through Rockies.TV on MLB’s platform for $20/month or $100/season. Rockies games are also distributed to several television providers, some of whom include Comcast, DirecTV and FuboTV. Out-of-market fans looking to stream games need to use the MLB.TV platform, which offers monthly and annual subscriptions available for new users through ESPN.
Rockies television play-by-play announcer Drew Goodman is beginning his 25th season on the broadcasts. During his first three seasons calling Rockies games, Goodman also served as the play-by-play voice of the Nuggets. Goodman usually works primarily with Jeff Huson, but he will also call games with Ryan Spilborghs and Cory Sullivan as well. Rockies radio broadcasts on KOA 850 AM/94.1 FM feature play-by-play announcer Jack Corrigan.
The Rockies have not appeared in the postseason for the last seven years and have finished last in the National League West for four straight seasons. The team finished three losses shy of the MLB single-season record last year with a 43-119 (.265) record but fortified its roster by acquiring OF Willi Castro, SP Michael Lorenzen and 2B Edouard Julien this offseason. Colorado begins the year on a six-time road trip, starting with Opening Day on Friday, March 27 against the Miami Marlins.

Detroit Tigers
Ilitch Sports + Entertainment is launching Detroit SportsNet as the new home of Detroit Tigers television broadcasts. Although Tigers broadcasts will be produced and distributed by MLB itself, the games will be on the dedicated network that will also add Red Wings hockey prior to next NHL season. Discussions surrounding distribution of the network are ongoing, but there is an in-market streaming option available through MLB’s platform for $20/month or $190/year.
Tigers games will feature the local broadcast team of play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti, analyst Dan Petry and reporter Logan Reever. Benetti will miss one game per week to call “Sunday Night Baseball” for NBC Sports with a rotation of analysts representing the participating teams. Prior to joining the Tigers, he was the lead television play-by-play voice of the White Sox.
Audacy-owned 97.1 The Ticket remains the flagship radio station for Tigers baseball and includes Dan Dickerson with analysts Bobby Scales and Andy Dirks. Tigers games are simulcast on a number of stations in the region, along with a few outlets in northern Ohio as well.
The Tigers open the 2026 season on the road against the San Diego Padres on Thursday, March 26. Despite trade rumors around SP Tarik Skubal, the team did not end up moving him and added starters Framber Valdez and Justin Verlander to the rotation. The Tigers played in the ALDS and fell in Game 5 for a second consecutive season as the team looks to win its first World Series championship since 1984. Detroit finishes second in the American League Central division with an 87-75 (.537) record.

Houston Astros
Local television broadcasts for Houston Astros baseball will be offered for in-market, direct-to-consumer streaming for the first time this season with the introduction of SCHN+. Space City Home Network, the RSN that televises Astros and Rockets games, launched the service in December to grant users access to view games without a traditional cable subscription. Both teams had collaborated to purchase the RSN, then-branded as AT&T SportsNet Southwest, when Warner Bros. Discovery decided it would be exiting the business.
In-market streaming subscriptions to watch Astros games are available through SCHN+ for $20/month or $200/year. Consumers who already have Space City Home Network available through a television provider may be able to sign in and receive the streaming service without incurring an additional charge.
Astros broadcasts will feature television play-by-play announcer Todd Kalas with analyst Geoff Blum and reporter Julia Morales. Radio broadcasts continue with the longtime broadcast duo of play-by-play announcer Robert Ford and analyst Steve Sparks on iHeartMedia-owned SportsTalk 790 and NewsRadio 740 KTRH.
The Astros begin the 2026 regular season at home against the Los Angeles Angels starting Thursday, March 26. Houston is coming off a year in which the team narrowly missed the postseason after finishing second in the American League West with an 87-75 (.537) record. The team added starting pitching depth through free agency with signees Tatsuya Imai and Ryan Weiss.

Kansas City Royals
The Kansas City Royals were one of the nine teams to move on from Main Street Sports Group during the offseason, ending their tenure on FanDuel Sports Network Kansas City/Midwest. Television broadcasts will now be available through the MLB Local Media platform featuring two new members of the on-air team in reporter Bridget Howard and analyst Eric Hosmer. Howard will be reporting on home game broadcasts and one road series this season, while Hosmer is going to appear on select games within an analyst rotation that includes Jeremy Guthrie and Rex Hudler.
Hosmer, of course, won the World Series as the Royals’ starting 1B during the 2015 season. The 13-year major-league veteran will be working alongside television play-by-play announcer Ryan Lefebvre. Jake Eisenberg also calls some games on television, but he primarily works on the radio broadcasts with Denny Matthews and Steve Stewart. Matthews is entering his 58th season calling Royals games, making him the longest-tenured announcer currently calling games for one MLB team. Audacy-owned 96.5 The Fan serves as the team’s flagship station, entering its second season with a dedicated FM signal.
In-market streaming subscriptions for the league’s Royals.TV platform are available for $20/month or $100/season. Royals games had previously been available to view direct to consumer using the FanDuel Sports Network app.
The Royals finished third in the American League Central last season with an 82-80 (.506) record and missed the playoffs for a ninth time in 10 years. Kansas City brought in OF Lane Thomas and OF Starling Marte this offseason, adding them to a lineup with All-Star SS Bobby Witt Jr. and 1B Vinnie Pasquantino. The Royals open the 2026 season away against the Atlanta Braves on Friday, March 27.

Los Angeles Angels
After several months of uncertainty about the television situation, the Los Angeles Angels franchise revealed that it had purchased Main Street’s stake in FanDuel Sports Network West. The team is staying on the RSN for the 2026 season, along with the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings. The Angels had considered joining the growing MLB Local Media portfolio, but in the end, the organization decided only to do so in a limited capacity. MLB is handling the team’s in-market streaming through the Angels.TV platform, which has subscriptions available for $20/month or $100/season.
Despite the change in RSN ownership, the Angels are maintaining the same television broadcast team consisting of play-by-play announcer Wayne Randazzo, analyst Mark Gubicza and reporter Erica Weston. The trio is entering its fourth season calling games together, with Gubicza reaching two decades in the booth. Randazzo has also called games for the Apple TV “Friday Night Baseball” prime time package.
The broadcast home of Angels games on radio is AM830 KLAA, which is owned by the team itself and primarily airs ESPN Radio programming. Angels broadcasts feature play-by-play announcer Terry Smith, who is working his 25th season on the radio station, and analyst Mark Langston.
The Angels have failed to qualify for the postseason for the last 11 consecutive years, recently finishing last in the American League West with a 72-90 (.444) record. Superstar OF Mike Trout continues to anchor the lineup that contains several new presences such as OF Josh Lowe and 3B Yoan Moncada. Los Angeles opens with two road series, the first of which is against the Houston Astros on Thursday, March 26.

Los Angeles Dodgers
Although there is considerable tumult surrounding RSNs amid cord cutting and changing methods of distribution, the Los Angeles Dodgers remain locked in a 25-year contract reportedly worth an average of $334 million/season. The team, which holds a 50% ownership stake in Spectrum SportsNet LA, has seemingly been able to leverage this television outlet as a steady revenue stream as it has handed out a series of lucrative free-agent contracts. With a team replete with superstars, headlined by four-time MVP Shohei Ohtani, the Dodgers are looking to win a third consecutive World Series championship.
Joe Davis is entering his 11th season as the lead television play-by-play voice of the Dodgers. Davis, by virtue of his role with Fox Sports, has also been able to call the World Series for the last four seasons, including the Dodgers’ last two championships. Davis has worked with analyst Orel Hershiser and reporter Kirsten Watson on Spectrum SportsNet LA broadcasts. Stephen Nelson generally fills in for Davis when he is calling MLB games for Fox, and other analysts on the Dodgers’ broadcast team have consisted of national voices in Eric Karros, Jessica Mendoza and Dontrelle Willis. In-market streaming subscriptions on SNLA+, created under a partnership between the RSN and MLB, are available through MLB platforms for $30/month or $200/season.
iHeart-owned AM 570 LA Sports serves as the flagship radio home of the Dodgers featuring the longtime broadcast duo of Charley Steiner and Rick Monday. The Dodgers’ audio network spans 18 English-language and six Spanish-language stations across California and the surrounding region.
The Dodgers finished last season with a World Series title in a thrilling Game 7 matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays, and the team will return north of the border for another showdown in early April. Opening Day, however, is scheduled to air in prime time on NBC and Peacock at home against the rival Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday, March 26. The Dodgers won a fourth consecutive National League West title in 2025, finishing with a 93-69 (.574) record, and added OF Kyle Tucker and RP Edwin Díaz this offseason.

Miami Marlins
The Miami Marlins organization ceased its affiliation with Main Street Sports Group during the offseason amid the RSN company enduring financial uncertainty. The team opted to move its television broadcasts to MLB Local Media, which will produce and distribute games for nearly half the league this season. Consumers can stream Marlins games in market using the Marlins.TV platform through MLB for $20/month or $100/season.
Longtime television analyst Tommy Hutton is retiring from the broadcast booth following the upcoming campaign, which will mark his 28th season calling Marlins games. Hutton first joined the team in the 1997 world championship season, and he returned to the organization in 2022 after being let go seven years prior. Through all of the changes around Marlins broadcasts, Hutton has often remained a constant presence for the fans.
Hutton will work with Marlins television play-by-play announcer Kyle Sielaff, who is entering his second season calling games on the platform, along with reporter Kelly Saco. WQAM is reportedly the frontrunner to land the radio rights with broadcasts slated to feature play-by-play voice Jack McMullen with analysts Rod Allen and AJ Ramos. Both radio analysts are also going to be part of pregame and postgame coverage on Marlins.TV.
The Marlins finished third in the National League East division last year with a 79-83 (.488) record and failed to qualify for the postseason. Miami enters the new season with a lineup featuring young talent such as OF Jakob Marsee, SS Xavier Edwards and OF Kyle Stowers, along with several veteran pitchers. Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers joined eight other MLB teams in departing Main Street Sports Group this offseason, subsequently agreeing to have MLB Local Media produce and distribute its game telecasts. Brewers games had traditionally been accessible on regional sports networks dating back nearly three decades when the organization worked with Group W to launch the Wisconsin Sports Network. In-market streaming subscriptions for the Brewers.TV platform accessible through MLB are available for $20/month or $100/season.
Longtime television play-by-play announcer Brian Anderson is beginning his 20th season calling Brewers games, and he will work with analyst Bill Schroeder and reporter Sophia Minnaert. Brewers games are disseminated across a radio network owned by Good Karma Brands with the flagship outlet of 620 WTMJ in Milwaukee. Radio broadcasts have been primarily anchored by Jeff Levering with Lane Grindle and Josh Maurer. Levering also fills in on the television side when Anderson has national assignments.
American Family Field commemorated the life of legendary radio voice Bob Uecker last season after he passed away in January 2025 following a battle with cancer. Uecker, who was nicknamed “Mr. Baseball,” called Brewers games for 55 years and was named the winner of the Ford C. Frick Award in 2003 by the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The Brewers organization honored Uecker by naming the team’s broadcast center in his honor, along with giving him a medallion and two statues at the ballpark.
Although the Milwaukee Brewers play in the smallest market in MLB, the team has garnered national appeal through its sustained success. The Brewers won the National League Central division crown for a third consecutive season last year and broke its regular-season victories record, finishing with a 97-65 (.599) record. Milwaukee opens the season at home on Thursday, March 26 against the Chicago White Sox with a familiar lineup featuring OF Christian Yelich, C William Contreras and 2B Brice Turang.

Minnesota Twins
MLB Local Media started producing and distributing Minnesota Twins broadcasts last season after games had previously aired on Bally Sports North. The move eliminated blackouts for local broadcasts, and some games aired for free last season on over-the-air outlets in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. That effort is continuing in the 2026 season through a partnership with KMSP FOX 9 and Gray Media that places 10 game simulcasts on local broadcast stations.
The Twins.TV in-market streaming platform is available through MLB for $20/month or $100/season. As is the case for the other teams, out-of-market streaming is available through MLB.TV, but new users must purchase the subscription through the ESPN platform. ESPN also holds the in-market streaming rights for MLB Local Media teams, although the company is reportedly unlikely to distribute such through its app until the 2027 season.
Hall of Fame 3B Paul Molitor has been part of Twins radio broadcasts for the last several seasons, but he will now add analysis work on the television side for select games this season. Molitor is part of an analyst rotation that also includes former Twins stars Justin Morneau, Glen Perkins, Trevor Plouffe and Denard Span. Cory Provus returns as the television play-by-play voice of the Twins with reporter Audra Martin. Radio broadcasts on the Treasure Island Baseball Network feature broadcasters Kris Atteberry and Dan Gadden.
The Twins have not returned to the playoffs over the last two seasons, attaining a fourth place finish in the American League Central with a 70-92 (.432) record. Minnesota enters the new season with familiar faces such as OF Byron Buxton, SP Joe Ryan and 3B Royce Lewis. The team opens the season away against the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday, March 26.

Television broadcasts of New York Mets baseball will primarily air on SportsNet New York (SNY) for the 21st consecutive season. Lauren Thomas of The Wall Street Journal reported last April that SNY was working with Moelis for new financial backing, including the option of a potential sale. Nexstar-owned PIX11, an over-the-air broadcast network, has more than 20 Mets broadcasts scheduled for the upcoming season through a partnership with SNY extended last September.
SNY offers in-market streaming for Mets games through the MLB.TV app under a partnership that started last season for $25/month or $125/season. Subscriptions enable users to stream Mets games in addition to other SNY programming. There is also an annual subscription option for $150/year. Out-of-market fans are able to sign up for an SNY-MLB.TV bundle option for $45/month or $220/season.
Television play-by-play announcer Gary Cohen will work with analysts Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling for a 21st consecutive season, and they will be joined by reporter Steve Gelbs. Radio broadcasts air on Audacy-owned 880 AM under a local marketing agreement with Good Karma Brands and feature Howie Rose, Keith Raad and Pat McCarthy. Rose is retiring after the season and is slated to call 84 regular-season games, which includes all home matchups and the entirety of the Subway Series.
NBC and Peacock will air the Opening Day game between the Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday, March 26, the first matchup under the company’s new three-year media rights deal. The Mets will seek to qualify for the postseason after being eliminated from contention on the final day of the season last year, finishing second in the National League East with an 83-79 (.512) record. The club made drastic changes to its roster in the offseason, adding SP Freddy Peralta and 3B Bo Bichette to a core featuring SS Francisco Lindor and OF Juan Soto.

New York Yankees
YES Network will air New York Yankees baseball for a 25th consecutive season this year as the team looks to secure another World Series championship. YES is majority owned by Yankee Global Enterprises, but Main Street Sports Group, Amazon and RedBird Capital all hold ownership stakes as well. While YES will air a majority of games, there will be 21 games exclusive to Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service throughout the season, which requires a separate subscription to access.
In-market streaming subscriptions for YES are available through The Gotham Sports App for $20/month or $120/season. Subscriptions give users access to Yankees games airing on YES plus other network programming as well, including Brooklyn Nets basketball and studio shows. An annual option for YES Network is available at a discount of $175/year through Monday, April 15, after which the price moves to $210/year. Consumers can bundle YES Network and MSG Networks together on Gotham for $35/month or $300/year. Gotham subscriptions recently became available for purchase through Prime Video as well.
The Yankees are prominently featured on national broadcast outlets and will begin the season against the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, March 25 on a game exclusive to Netflix. Local games airing on YES Network and Prime Video feature play-by-play announcer Michael Kay with analysts David Cone, Paul O’Neill and Joe Girardi, along with reporter Meredith Marakovits. Radio broadcasts will feature Dave Sims and Suzyn Waldman for a second consecutive season on Audacy-owned WFAN and distributed to other local outlets.
The Yankees finished second in the American League East last season with a 94-68 (.580) record but fell short of a World Series appearance. The team remains largely in tact with three-time AL MVP OF Aaron Judge and OF Cody Bellinger in the lineup, and features a pitching rotation with veteran SP Gerrit Cole and young star SP Cam Schlittler. Although YES Network is broadcasting the team’s home opener, the team will play three of its first six games on the national airwaves.

Philadelphia Phillies
NBC Sports Philadelphia will return as the television home of Philadelphia Phillies baseball, marking the 29th consecutive season Phillies games will air on a Comcast-owned RSN. The team initially launched Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia as part of a joint venture with Comcast Spectacor in October 1997, and it rebranded to NBC Sports Philadelphia two decades later. The Phillies organization is in the midst of a 25-year television deal reportedly worth a total of $2.5 billion that also granted the franchise a reported 25% stake in the RSN. Some games will also air on NBC10 throughout the season as well.
Fans can stream Phillies games in market by utilizing the Phillies.TV platform through MLB, which is priced at $25/month or $170/season. NBC Sports Philadelphia, which also includes Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia 76ers games, is available as a monthly add-on subscription for Peacock users who pay for the Select ($8/month, $80/year), Premium ($11/month, $110/year) or Premium Plus ($17/month, $170/year) plans. The add-on is priced at $24.95/month, which is on top of the price for a compatible Peacock subscription. Other live sports and events from NBC are only available through the Premium or Premium Plus options.
The Phillies television broadcast team no longer includes Hall of Fame 3B Mike Schmidt, who made the decision to step away after appearing on select broadcasts for the last 12 seasons. Play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy will work with analyst John Kruk, but it will not include reporter Taryn Hatcher after she was told the network was eliminating her role. Scott Franzke and Larry Andersen have worked on Phillies radio broadcasts for the last two decades.
The Phillies won the National League East division for a second consecutive season last year, improving by one game to a 96-66 (.593) record. The team retained DH Kyle Schwarber and C J.T. Realmuto on new contracts and still have veteran 1B Bryce Harper and SP Cristopher Sánchez in the fold. Philadelphia opens the 2026 season at home against the Texas Rangers on Thursday, March 26.

Pittsburgh Pirates
Two years ago, Fenway Sports Group and the Pittsburgh Pirates officially acquired joint ownership stakes in SportsNet Pittsburgh, an RSN that was formerly branded as AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh. Warner Bros. Discovery had owned the previous iteration of the network, but the company chose to exit the RSN business in 2023. The network has aired live game broadcasts for both the Pirates and Penguins over the last two seasons.
In-market streaming subscriptions for SportsNet Pittsburgh are available through SNP 360 for $22/month or $100/season. These options grant users access to Pirates and Penguins broadcasts in addition to college sports telecasts, pregame/postgame shows and other network programming. As is the case with most other streaming services, consumers who receive the network through a pay television provider can log in with their credentials.
Pirates broadcasts on television primarily feature play-by-play voice Greg Brown with analyst Bob Walk, both of whom are entering their 33rd year calling games. The television broadcasts also feature reporter Hannah Mears, who is entering her third season on the broadcasts. Radio broadcasts air on Audacy-owned flagship 93.7 The Fan and have included announcers Joe Block and John Wehner.
The Pirates have a 10-year postseason drought, the longest active streak in the National League, and finished last in the NL Central with a 71-91 (.438) record. Despite failing to secure a winning record for the last seven seasons, the team is replete with young talent such as SP Paul Skenes, SS Oneil Cruz and SP Jared Jones and holds a top-ranked farm system. Pittsburgh opens the season on Thursday, March 26 against the New York Mets in a matchup exclusively on NBC and Peacock.

St. Louis Cardinals
The St. Louis Cardinals were one of nine teams to move their broadcasts away from Main Street Sports Group during the offseason as the RSN company sent “WARN notices” to employees, presaging the reported potential for liquidation. The Cardinals, in addition to six of these teams, moved the production and distribution of games under the MLB Local Media portfolio. Main Street, formerly known as Diamond Sports Group, is reportedly expected to close its Ballpark Village office, which has traditionally housed studio coverage for the broadcasts.
In-market streaming for Cardinals baseball is available on Cardinals.TV, the direct-to-consumer platform accessible through MLB for $20/month or $100/season. As is the case for the other franchises without traditional RSNs, consumers can bundle the streaming service with the MLB.TV out-of-market platform for $40/month or $200/season.
Cardinals television broadcasts will feature play-by-play announcer Chip Caray and analyst Brad Thompson with reporters/hosts Jim Hayes and Dani Wexelman. Radio broadcasts air on flagship station KMOX and are distributed to other affiliates in nine states. John Rooney is beginning his third decade on the airwaves and will work with Ricky Horton and Mike Claiborne throughout the season.
The Cardinals finished with a 78-84 (.481) record last season, placing them fourth in the National League Central. The team has not made the postseason for the last three years and traded several veterans away this offseason. St. Louis enters the new campaign with young talent such as SS Masyn Winn, OF Lars Nootbaar and SP Matthew Liberatore. The team begins the season at home on Thursday, March 26 against the Tampa Bay Rays.

San Diego Padres
MLB Local Media took on production and distribution responsibilities for local telecasts of San Diego Padres in the midst of the 2023 season. The team was the first to join the league’s local media portfolio as Diamond Sports Group was in the early stages of bankruptcy proceedings.
As the Padres enter the fourth season working with MLB Local Media, games continue to be distributed to traditional pay television providers while retaining a direct-to-consumer option. In fact, Mike Mazzeo of Sports Business Journal reported last October that the team has 70,000 DTC subscriptions, the most among teams under the MLB Local Media banner. In-market streaming subscriptions to Padres.TV remain available for $20/month or $100/season.
Television play-by-play announcer Don Orsillo is entering his 10th season working full time in the TV role, and he will once again pair with analyst Mark Grant and reporter Bob Scanlan. Radio broadcasts will air on 97.3 The Fan for a ninth consecutive season and feature the broadcast duo of Jesse Agler and Tony Gwynn Jr.
The Padres finished second in the National League West last season with a 90-72 (.556) record, but the team fell in the Wild Card Series. San Diego is bringing back a lineup featuring OF Fernando Tatís Jr., 3B Manny Machado and OF Jackson Merrill under new manager and former RP Craig Stammen. The team opens the season at home on Thursday, March 26 against the Detroit Tigers.

San Francisco Giants
The San Francisco Giants organization is in the back half of its 25-year contract under which game telecasts air on NBC Sports Bay Area. As part of that contract, the Giants also purchased a 30% stake in the network created equally from the shares of the two media conglomerates, per a report by John Dempsey of Variety. Comcast later agreed to buy out Fox’s stake in April 2008, according to an archived report by John Ourand at Sports Business Journal.
NBC Sports Bay Area remains available on traditional pay television providers, but consumers can also stream games in market using the Giants.TV platform through MLB for $20/month or $120/season. The RSN as a whole, which also includes Golden State Warriors broadcasts and other programming, is available as a monthly add-on subscription for Peacock users who pay for the Select ($8/month, $80/year), Premium ($11/month, $110/year) or Premium Plus ($17/month, $170/year) plans. The add-on is priced at $17.95/month, which is on top of the price for a compatible Peacock subscription. Other live sports and events from NBC are only available through the Premium or Premium Plus options.
The Giants are bringing back the long-tenured television broadcast team of Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow, who have primarily worked together on television. The radio duo consisting of Jon Miller and Dave Flemming is also coming back to call Giants games this season, along with former Athletics play-by-play announcer Glen Kuiper for select road games. KNBR has been the flagship radio home of the Giants since 1979, and the two sides reached a four-year extension last April that lasts through the 2028 season.
The Giants open the season against the New York Yankees in an Opening Night game on Wednesday, March 25 exclusively on Netflix. San Francisco compiled an 81-81 (.500) record and will look to secure its first winning season since 2021 led by 1B Rafael Devers, SP Logan Webb and 3B Matt Chapman. The Giants have made the playoffs two times since winning a third World Series championship in six seasons, recently finishing outside the bubble for a fourth consecutive year.

Seattle Mariners
The Seattle Mariners made the decision to shutter Root Sports Northwest after the 2025 season, opting to move live game broadcasts within the MLB Local Media portfolio. Mariners games had been airing on the network through its variety of re-brands over more than three decades. The franchise became more involved with the RSN over time, purchasing a controlling interest in 2013 under a partnership with DIRECTV Sports Network. Of course, the DirecTV RSNs were acquired by AT&T, which were later part of the WarnerMedia and Discovery, Inc. merger.
The Mariners reportedly purchased Warner Bros. Discovery’s 29% stake in the network upon the media conglomerate looking to exit the RSN business entirely. As a result, the team has had full control of the network for the previous two seasons, but the organization ultimately chose to work with the league on production and distribution instead. This includes the advent of the Mariners.TV platform, which is offering in-market streaming subscriptions for $20/month or $100/season.
The television broadcast team for Mariners baseball includes play-by-play announcer Aaron Goldsmith featuring analysis from Angie Mentink, Ryan Rowland-Smith, Jay Buhner and Dave Valle. Radio play-by-play announcer Rick Rizzs has worked on Mariners broadcasts for more than four decades and announced his retirement following the 2026 season. Seattle Sports 710 has been the flagship radio home of the Mariners since 2009, and games are distributed to other outlets in five U.S. states plus Vancouver, B.C.
The Mariners won the American League West division for the first time in 24 years, finishing the campaign with a 90-72 (.556) record. Although the team fell one win short of reaching the World Series, star players such as C Cal Raleigh, OF Julio Rodríguez and SP Bryan Woo are returning on the new season. The organization’s quest for its first World Series title begins at home against the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday, March 26.

Tampa Bay Rays
The Tampa Bay Rays were one of nine teams to leave Main Street Sports Group during the offseason as the RSN company experienced financial uncertainty. The organization moved its television broadcasts to the MLB Local Media portfolio, which will continue distribution to multiple outlets this season. Rays fans will be able to view the games through traditional pay television providers or stream the action using the Rays.TV platform through MLB.
Pricing for in-market streaming of Rays games is $20/month or $100/season, aligning with the structure for many of the teams working with MLB Local Media. As is the case for these other organizations, the league is offering an option to bundle Rays.TV with the MLB.TV out-of-market platform for $200/season. Of course, MLB.TV remains available as a standalone option for $30/month or $150/season.
The television broadcast team of play-by-play voice Dewayne Staats, analyst Brian Anderson and reporter Ryan Bass will be back this season despite games no longer airing on FanDuel Sports Network Sun. Rays games are also continuing to air on iHeart-owned WDAE, which moved to the 95.7 FM frequency in February. The primary radio team for Rays games last season included Andy Freed and Neil Solondz.
The Rays finished fourth in the American League East for a second consecutive decision with a 77-85 (.475) record. Tampa Bay played last season away from Tropicana Field after the ballpark endured damage from Hurricane Milton. The team used Steinbrenner Field, the spring training home of the New York Yankees, as its temporary home ballpark. The Rays begin the season on the road against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday, March 26 and feature stars such as 3B Junior Caminero and SP Drew Rasmussen.

Texas Rangers
Ahead of last season, the Texas Rangers organization departed Diamond Sports Group and formed its own media/entertainment company to embark on a new era of broadcasting. The team subsequently debuted the Rangers Sports Network as its new linear television home distributed to satellite and cable providers. Moreover, the Rangers reached a multiyear streaming partnership with A Parent Media Co. Inc. (APMC) to allow fans to view games through Victory+.
In-market streaming for Rangers baseball on Victory+ is generally available for $150/season, but the service is running a $30 discount until Tuesday, March 31. The season pass also includes access to other live sports telecasts, such as the Dallas Stars, National Women’s Soccer League and Texas High School Football. Subscribers can redeem two free tickets for a Rangers home game at Globe Life Field as well.
Rangers telecasts will feature play-by-play announcer Dave Raymond working alongside analysts Mike Bacsik and David Murphy. Field reporter Laura Stickells is returning for her second season on the broadcasts, while former reporter Emily Jones is remaining with the organization in a host/ambassador role. Radio broadcasts on flagship outlet 105.3 The Fan will feature Matt Hicks and Eric Nadel, the latter of whom is entering his 47th year calling Rangers baseball.
The Rangers have not made the postseason since winning the World Series for the first time in franchise history three seasons ago. Texas finished third in the American League West with an 81-81 (.500) record and added SP Mackenzie Gore, OF Brandon Nimmo and C Danny Jansen to the roster. The team opens the season away against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday, March 26.

Toronto Blue Jays
Toronto Blue Jays games have aired on Rogers Sportsnet since the 1999 season (exclusively since 2010) and continues to broadcast regular-season and postseason contests across Canada. In fact, Rogers Sportsnet broadcast the World Series across Canada last year while Fox Sports televised the championship in the United States.
In-market streaming for Blue Jays baseball is available through Sportsnet+, a direct-to-consumer product launched by Rogers Communications in 2016. The Sportsnet+ standard plan is priced at $30/month or $250/year and gives users access to Blue Jays, Maple Leafs and Raptors games, along with the entire MLB postseason and Stanley Cup Playoffs, select NBA and WNBA playoff games and UFC fight nights. This service also has a premium option that adds out-of-market NHL games for Canadian teams and SportsNet World events for $43/month or $325/year.
The seventh game of the World Series marked the last Blue Jays telecast for Buck Martinez, who announced his retirement from the booth a few months later. Former Blue Jays C Joe Siddall is joining the broadcast team as the primary analyst alongside play-by-play announcer Dan Shulman and reporter Hazel Mae. Radio broadcasts on the Blue Jays Radio Network feature play-by-play voice Ben Shulman and analyst Chris Leroux.
The Blue Jays finished atop the American League East last season with a 94-68 (.580) record and will seek to return to the World Series for a second consecutive year. Toronto returns with 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and OF George Springer, and the team also added SP Dylan Cease on a seven-year contract. The Blue Jays open the season at home on Friday, March 27 against the Athletics.

Washington Nationals
Prior to last season, the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles resolved disputes related to Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN). The longstanding battle stemmed from the Nationals organization claiming that it was not receiving the fair market value from the Orioles and MASN for its local television rights, and some of the dispute found its way into courtrooms. With the settlement, the Nationals were permitted to explore other options for its television rights following the 2025 season and ultimately chose to depart MASN and join MLB Local Media.
In-market streaming is available for consumers through the Nationals.TV platform, which is priced at $20/month or $100/season. Local Nationals telecasts became available direct to consumer for the first time last year through MASN+, but the team is no longer accessible on that platform with its exit from the RSN. Users can bundle Nationals.TV with MLB.TV for $200/season, an offer applicable for most MLB-produced teams.
While analyst Kevin Frandsen remains on Nationals telecasts, games will feature two new voices in play-by-play announcer Dan Kolko and reporter/host Alexa Datt. Kolko fills a role previously held by Bob Carpenter, who retired after last season following a 19-year run in the booth. Charlie Slowes and Dave Jageler return for a 21st season working together on radio broadcasts, which air on flagship outlet 106.7 The Fan.
The Nationals placed last in the National League East division with a 66-96 (.407) record, missing the postseason for a sixth consecutive year. The team features young talent such as OF James Wood, SS CJ Abrams and 3B Brady House. Washington opens the season on the road against the Chicago Cubs on Thursday, March 26.
