Even with Tiger Woods fading after Sunday’s front nine, overnight ratings for the final round of The Masters were among the highest in years.
Final round coverage of the 2013 Masters earned a 10.2 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, up 26% from last year’s final round, which took place on Easter Sunday (8.1), and down 2% from 2011 (10.4).
The 10.2 overnight is the fourth-highest for the final round of The Masters over the past decade, trailing only 2011, 2010 (12.0) and 2005 (10.3). Woods won the tournament in 2005, and his off-field struggles fueled the ratings in 2010.
Sunday’s overnight peaked with an impressive 13.4 overnight from 7:00-7:30 PM ET.
On Saturday, third round coverage drew a 6.3 overnight — up 24% from last year (5.1), but down 7% from 2011 (6.8). The 6.3 overnight ranks as the third-highest for Saturday coverage over the past decade, trailing only 2011 and 2010 (7.6).
