The rematch between the Chiefs and Broncos was easily the top NFL TV draw of Week 13.
The Week 13 NFL national window, featuring Broncos/Chiefs in 86% of markets, earned a 17.4 overnight rating on CBS Sunday — up 14% from coverage featuring Steelers/Ravens last year (15.3), and down 6% from coverage featuring Packers/Giants in 2011 (18.5).
Sunday’s rematch drew a higher overnight than the Chiefs/Broncos “Sunday Night Football” game in Week 11 (16.6). With that said, the 17.4 is only the eighth-highest of the season for the NFL national window.
Earlier in the day, the network’s regional window drew a 12.0 overnight — up 18% from last year (10.2), and up 9% from 2011 (11.0). The 12.0 for the early window nearly matched NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” game.
Speaking of “Sunday Night Football,” the Giants/Washington game drew a 12.1 overnight on NBC — down 10% from Eagles/Cowboys last year (13.5), but up 2% from Lions/Saints in 2011 (11.9).
“Monday Night Football” also had a modest decline, despite a battle between the top teams in the NFC. The Saints/Seahawks blowout drew a 10.6 overnight, down 9% from Giants/Washington last year (11.6), but up 54% from Chargers/Jaguars in 2011 (6.9).
Rounding out the Week 13 action, the NFL singleheader on FOX — featuring Rams/49ers in 34% of markets — drew a 10.8 overnight on FOX, down 20% from coverage featuring Packers/Vikings last year (13.5), and down 12% from coverage on CBS in 2011 (12.3).
