- The NFL will take it slow with its new ad campaign. On Sunday, the league will debut a series of ads featuring NFL action in extreme slow motion — “10 times as slow as any slow-motion video shot by N.F.L. Films.” The ad campaign, which will run through Super Bowl XLIV, will promote “the N.F.L. brand, the 2009 season, the league?s youth programs and other initiatives.”
- Detroit Tigers fans can watch their team play at their own convenience. FS Detroit and Comcast have announced the creation of Tigers On Demand, which will allow local Comcast subscribers “to watch the most recent Tigers game on demand in its entirety whenever they want.” Viewers will be able to pause, rewind and fast-forward through the taped telecast.
- Dish Network filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against ESPN last week, seeking at least $1 million in damages. Dish alleged that ESPN violated part of its carriage agreement by offering DirecTV and Comcast “better deals to carry ESPN Classic and ESPNU.” In a statement, ESPN said it is in “full compliance with” its agreement with Dish Network, and will “vigorously defend this legal action, the apparent sole purpose of which is to get a better deal.”
