The Cowboys, Packers and Broncos delivered several of the largest NFL audiences during the 2014 regular season.
The most-watched NFL game of the season was Eagles/Cowboys in Week 13, a Thanksgiving blowout that scored 32.0 million viewers on FOX. It was one of three telecasts to top the 30 million mark this season, including Patriots/Packers on CBS three days later (30.9M) and coverage featuring Cowboys/Seahawks on FOX in Week 6 (29.4M).
Ten of the 11 most-watched NFL games during the regular season featured the Cowboys, Packers or Broncos. The lone exception was Bears/Lions on Thanksgiving (29.4M).
The highest rated game was the previously mentioned Patriots/Packers game in Week 13, which drew a 17.6 on CBS. The Week 6 Cowboys/Seahawks game ranked second (17.4), and Week 9 coverage featuring Broncos/Patriots ranked third (16.8). As was the case with viewership, 11 of the 13 highest rated telecasts featured the Cowboys, Packers or Broncos.
Fifteen of the 17 highest rated regular season telecasts aired on CBS or FOX, as did 16 of the 18 most-watched.
On the other end of the spectrum, the lowest rated and least-watched telecast of the season was Titans/Jaguars on NFL Network in Week 16 (3.1, 4.9M). The seven lowest rated and least-watched telecasts aired on NFL Network alone.
Outside of NFL Network, the season’s worst performing game was Lions/Falcons on FOX in Week 8 — a game from London that began at 9:30 AM ET. The worst performer in a regular timeslot was the Week 9 regional window on CBS, which drew a 5.8 and 9.3 million.
