The day after the Super Bowl was eventful for now-former NFL Network analyst Warren Sapp.
In Phoenix for Super Bowl 49, Sapp was arrested Monday morning after an altercation at a hotel room turned physical. According to reports, Sapp had a disagreement over monetary payment with two women identified as escorts. He was booked on one count of solicitation of prostitution and two counts of assault, all three misdemeanors.
Sapp was suspended indefinitely from NFL Network Monday afternoon. Within a few hours, however, that suspension became an outright firing. He had been with NFL Network since 2008 and was on-air just hours before his arrest.
The arrest, suspension and firing came nearly five years after Sapp was arrested for domestic battery and temporarily pulled off the air. The previous incident likely factored into his quick dismissal.
