Ratings and viewership for the MLS All-Star Game could not match last year’s post-World Cup numbers.
The 2015 MLS All-Star Game drew a 0.3 final rating and 548,000 viewers on Fox Sports 1 Wednesday night, down a tick in ratings and 36% in viewership from last year (0.4, 862K) and up a tick and 72%, respectively, from 2013 (0.2, 319K), both on ESPN2.
The game, won by the MLS All-Stars over Premier League club Tottenham, ranks fourth out of the past eight MLS All-Star telecasts on English-language television — trailing last year, 2011 (784K) and 2010 (714K).
UniMas chipped in a 0.2 and 285,000 for its coverage, down 31% in viewership from last year (410K). The combined audience of 833,000 viewers marks a 35% decline from last year’s 1.2 million.
Compared to other sports, the MLS All-Star Game drew fewer viewers than each of the comparable Big Four exhibitions — including the NHL All-Star Game on NBCSN (1.2M). It did top Saturday’s WNBA All-Star Game, which aired on both ABC and ESPN (746K).
