Through Week 9 of the season, viewership for NFL telecasts has hit the highest level in two decades.
NFL telecasts are averaging over 17 million viewers across FOX, NBC, CBS and ESPN, the “highest viewership at this point in a season in 20 years.” Viewership is up on all four of the NFL’s television partners.
To put the numbers in perspective, the NFL is averaging “double the viewership” of non-NFL primetime programs on the Big 4 broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX).
In particular, the 4:15 PM national window is averaging 23.5 million viewers on FOX and CBS (up 6%), Sunday Night Football is averaging 19.5 million on NBC (up 22%) and Monday Night Football is averaging 14.6 million on ESPN (up 18%).
