MLB Commissioner Bud Selig has set a timetable for his retirement — for the third time this decade.
Earlier this month, Selig reportedly told owners that he would “step aside” when his contract ends after the 2012 season. When reached by the Chicago Tribune, Selig “declined to discuss his conversations with ownership but confirmed he plans to stay on the job three more years.”
In 2003, Selig said he would retire at the end of the ’06 season. Then, in 2006, he said he would retire at the end of the ’09 season.
