CBS hit a near season-high for last week’s NFL singleheader, continuing its strong start to the season.
The Week 7 NFL singleheader window drew an 11.6 final rating and 19.2 million viewers on CBS last Sunday afternoon, up 26% in ratings and 25% in viewership from last year (9.2, 15.4M) and up 8% and 5%, respectively, from coverage on FOX featuring Cowboys/Eagles in 2013 (10.8, 18.2M).
The telecast earned the second-largest audience for the singleheader this season, trailing only coverage on FOX in Week 1 (20.1M).
CBS is now averaging an 11.2 rating and 19.0 million viewers for Sunday NFL coverage, not including the network’s Thursday Night Football simulcasts — up 8% in ratings and 9% in viewership from last year (10.4, 17.5M). Viewership is the highest on record for the NFL’s AFC broadcast package at this point of the season (dating back to 1997), and the rating is tied as the highest since 1994 on NBC (11.7).
