The Blackhawks continue to set ratings records in Chicago, while the Penguins came close to breaking records of their own.
Thursday’s Blue Jackets/Blackhawks game drew a 4.15 rating on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, the highest ever for a regular season Blackhawks game on the network. The 4.15 tops the previous record of 3.43, set by a Blackhawks/Bruins game just one week earlier.
This marks the fifth time this season that the Blackhawks have set a regular season ratings record on CSN Chicago. The new record of 4.15 is 53% higher than the season’s first record of 2.70, set by Oilers/Blackhawks in October.
So far this season, Blackhawks games on CSN Chicago are averaging a 2.19 rating, up 111% from last year.
Meanwhile, the Penguins’ October 7 win over the Flyers drew a 10.95 rating on FSN Pittsburgh, the second-highest ever for a regular season Penguins telecast on the network.
The only game to draw a higher rating was Mario Lemieux‘s first game back from retirement in 2000, which drew a 15.9 rating.
Six of the ten highest rated regular season games ever on FSN Pittsburgh have taken place this season alone.
