ESPN to Broadcast NFL’s Mexico City Game
- ESPN will carry the November 21 Texans/Raiders NFL game from Mexico City, the league announced Friday, marking the first time ever that Monday Night Football has taken place outside of the United States. The game will be the NFL’s second in Mexico during the regular season, and the first since 2005 (which also aired on ESPN). (ESPN Media Zone, NFL Communications)
Fox Sports Acquires Mexican Soccer Rights
- Fox Sports has acquired English-language rights to Mexican national team soccer under an agreement with Univision Deportes, it was announced Wednesday. Under the deal, which runs through the 2018 World Cup, Fox Sports 1 will carry every Mexico home match starting this Wednesday against Senegal. (Fox Sports)
ESPN to Launch New Morning Lineup Monday
- ESPN will debut its new morning SportsCenter lineup on Monday, the network announced earlier this week, with the setup the same as recently reported in Sports Illustrated — SportsCenter AM with Jay Harris, Kevin Negandhi and Jaymee Sire from 7-10 AM ET, Hannah Storm going solo from 10-11, and then a pair of blocks co-anchored by Jay Crawford and Chris McKendry (11 AM-12 PM) and Cari Champion and David Lloyd (12-1:30). SportsCenter AM, originally announced last May, will include distinct graphics and colors. (ESPN Media Zone)
