The voice of the NBA caught up with the leader of the free world on Saturday morning.
Turner Sports NBA play-by-play voice Marv Albert interviewed President Barack Obama on the White House basketball court Saturday, in an interview that will be seen during Tuesday’s NBA pregame show on TNT.
The interview touched on some on-court issues, including LeBron James‘ free agency, as well as the recent controversy involving the Suns wearing their ‘Los Suns’ jerseys in protest of the Arizona immigration law.
Albert called the interview “a great honor and privilege” and “clearly one of the highlights” of his broadcasting career.
Some portions of the interview will be available on NBA TV and NBA.com on Sunday.
In April, Obama went one-on-one with CBS college basketball analyst Clark Kellogg for a segment that aired during the network’s Final Four coverage. It was his second appearance on CBS, following a guest appearance during a Duke/Georgetown game in January.
Obama also appeared on FOX coverage of the MLB All-Star Game last year. As a presidential candidate, Obama was interviewed on ESPN Monday Night Football in 2008, along with opponent John McCain.
