After two weeks of gains, Sunday Night Football was back on its downward track over the weekend.
Chiefs/Broncos earned an 11.8 overnight rating on the Week 12 edition of NBC’s Sunday Night Football, down 27% from Patriots/Broncos last year (16.2), down 16% from Cowboys/Giants in 2014 (14.0), and the lowest for SNF in Week 12 of the season since Colts/Chargers in 2008 (10.8).
The Chiefs’ overtime win, which peaked at a 12.2 from 11:30 PM ET through Midnight, was NBC’s second straight game to hit a multi-year low — a return to the doldrums after its previous two games both increased.
Overall, 12 of NBC’s 14 NFL telecasts this season have declined and ten of those have hit multi-year lows.
Denver led all markets with a 45.9 rating, followed by Kansas City at 41.0. The latter market scored its second-best SNF rating. Albuquerque was the top neutral market with a 20.8, followed by Las Vegas (17.1) and Sacramento (16.4).
