Liga MX Hits Semifinal High on Univision
- The second leg of the Club Necaxa/Club America Liga MX Apertura semifinal had a 1.3 final rating and 2.8 million viewers on Univision and Univision Deportes Network last Sunday night, marking the largest audience for the round since 2007. Three nights earlier, the first leg had 1.2 million on UDN alone, the network’s largest audience for an Apertura semifinal. (Univision)
Nation Not Yet in Love With Towns’ T-Wolves
- Timberwolves/Raptors had just 706,000 viewers on the NBA on TNT Thursday night, down 39% from Clippers/Bulls last year (1.2M), down 69% from Cavaliers/Thunder in 2014 (2.3M), and the second-smallest audience of the season on TNT or ESPN. Minnesota’s previous TNT appearance, against the Sixers in November, ranks dead last (609K). Ratings were not immediately available. In the nightcap, Spurs/Bulls had a 0.7 final rating and 1.0 million viewers — down a tick in ratings and 6% in viewership from Knicks/Kings last year (0.8, 1.1M) and down 22% and 20% respectively from Rockets/Kings in ’14 (0.9, 1.3M). Bruins/Caps Continues NHL’s Downward Trend on NBCSN
- Bruins/Capitals scored a 0.3 final rating and 454,000 viewers on NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Rivalry this week, down a tick in ratings and 17% in viewership from Rangers/Islanders last year (0.4, 550K) and down a tick and 18%, respectively, from Blues/Blackhawks in 2014 (0.4, 551K). Of the 18 NHL telecasts this season that can be compared to last year, 15 have posted a decline in viewership. (via Programming Insider 12/8)
