Ratings and viewership for the MLB Division Series on TBS declined from last year.
The 2010 MLB Division Series averaged a 2.8 U.S. rating and 4.434 million viewers on TBS, down 10% in ratings and 7% in viewership from last year (3.1, 4.769 mil), but even and up 4%, respectively, compared to 2008 (2.8, 4.282 mil).
TBS aired two more games this year than last, including its first Division Series Game 5 — Tuesday’s Rangers/Rays game (4.1, 6.410 mil).
Of the thirteen telecasts that can be compared to last year, nine had declines in ratings, and only two had increases. One game (Yankees/Twins Game 2) was even.
The top game of the Division Series was Yankees/Twins Game 1 last Wednesday night (4.3, 6.914 mil). That game was the most-viewed Game 1 of a Division Series ever on cable.
On the flip side, Rays/Rangers Game 4 on Sunday afternoon attracted the lowest numbers (1.5, 2.219 mil). By the slimmest of margins, the game was the least-viewed postseason matchup ever on TBS.
