The latest victory for Michael Vick and his Eagles put up one of NBC’s largest regular season NFL overnights since the net regained rights to the league in ’06.
The Eagles’ win over the Giants drew a 15.9 overnight rating on NBC Sunday night, up 31% from Week 11 last year (PHI/CHI: 12.1), and up 18% from Week 11 in 2008 (DAL/WSH: 13.5).
This marks the fifth-highest overnight for a regular season NFL game on NBC since the network resumed airing games in 2006. Four of the five highest overnights have come this season alone, led by the Vikings/Saints Kickoff Game (17.7).
In addition, the 15.9 is the highest overnight for a primetime NFL game in the month of November since 1998. This comes just weeks after NBC drew the highest primetime overnight in the month of October since ’98.
Despite the strong numbers, Sunday’s game was not the top draw of the day, falling behind the NFL national window on CBS (IND/NE: 16.7). The national window has topped Sunday Night Football in the overnights and in the final ratings in every week but one this season.
Philadelphia was the top market for Sunday’s game, with a 38.1. Norfolk, VA (26.3), New Orleans (24.2), Las Vegas (23.9) and Richmond, VA (20.3) rounded out the top five.
New York ranked seventh, with a 20.1. Atlanta, where Vick played for six seasons, was eighth with an 18.5.
