- Ron Santo: The Cubs broadcaster passed away on Thursday night at age 70. Santo, who joined the Cubs radio broadcast team in 1990, died from complications of bladder cancer. Cubs’ owner Tom Ricketts in a statement: “We knew him for his passion, his loyalty, his great personal courage and his tremendous sense of humor. … Ronnie will forever be in the hearts and souls of Cubs fans.” (MLB.com)
