Ratings and viewership improved for the first game of Sunday’s Week 15 doubleheader on CBS, but the telecast drew some of the lowest numbers of the season.
Regional NFL action featuring Jaguars/Colts earned a 7.4 final rating and 11.927 million viewers on CBS Sunday afternoon, up 10% in ratings and 15% in viewership from last year (ATL/NYJ*: 6.7, 10.363 mil, FOX).
Sunday’s early window is tied as the 13th-lowest rated NFL telecast of the season, and the 14th-least viewed.
For the season, only 15 of 85 total NFL telecasts have attracted fewer than 8% of U.S. television households. That includes six games on NFL Network.
The early window was the top program of the week in eight NFL TV markets: Indianapolis (JAX/IND: 38.9), Kansas City (KC/STL: 38.5), Buffalo (BUF/MIA: 33.1), Jacksonville (JAX/IND: 30.4), St. Louis (KC/STL: 28.5), Nashville (HOU/TEN: 26.7), Cleveland (CLE/CIN: 28.0), Miami (BUF/MIA: 17.0)
The Week 15 national window, featuring Jets/Steelers in 92% of TV markets, drew a 15.0 final rating and 25.677 million viewers, down 1% in both ratings and viewership from last year.
