The NFL and NFLPA have bought themselves at least one more day of negotiations in their ongoing labor dispute.
The NFL’s collective bargaining agreement, set to expire at 11:59 PM Thursday, has been extended by one full day. The move will at the very least delay the NFL’s first work stoppage since 1987.
According to ESPN, the owners made a proposal on Thursday that “was enough to ‘stop the clock’ and continue negotiations on a new CBA that would delay a work stoppage” (espn.com, 3/3/11).
