Gottlieb Among NFL Sideline Reporters on FOX
Fox Sports announced Monday that college basketball analyst Doug Gottlieb, golf reporter Shane Bacon, and former ESPN SportsCenter anchor Sara Walsh will serve as a sideline reporters for the network’s NFL coverage this season. The three are among six rotating reporters Fox will use to fill out the depth chart on weeks in which it carries a heavy slate of games. [Fox Sports]
Carter to Work Jr. NBA For FOX
NBA Hawks G Vince Carter will serve as a game analyst on Fox Sports coverage of the inaugural Jr. NBA World Championships next month. Carter will be part of a three-man booth with Donny Marshall and either Gus Johnson or Mark Followill. [Fox Sports]
ESPN to Honor Levy
ESPN will honor SportsCenter anchor Steve Levy August 2 to mark the 25th anniversary of his tenure with ESPN. He debuted on SportsCenter on August 7, 1993. Levy will work the 11 PM ET edition alongside Keith Olbermann, with Kenny Mayne making a guest appearance. [ESPN PR 7.30]
NBC Sports Names President
NBC Sports last week named PGA of America CEO Pete Bevacqua as president of NBC Sports Group, a new position that entails oversight of linear and digital programming, marketing, the NBC-branded regional sports networks, and NBC’s various golf properties. Bevacqua will serve as the second-in-command to Mark Lazarus, who remains chairman of NBC broadcasting and sports. He will start in September. [NBC Sports PR 7.24]
