Sunday Night Football ratings hit a multi-year high in Week 12.
Packers-Vikings scored an 11.6 rating and 20.4 million viewers on NBC’s Sunday Night Football last weekend, up 5% in ratings and 8% in viewership from last year (Packers-Steelers: 11.0, 19.0M) and up 8% and 11% respectively from 2016 (Chiefs-Broncos: 10.7, 18.4M).
Minnesota’s win was the highest rated and most-watched Week 12 edition of SNF since 2015 (Patriots-Broncos: 14.6, 25.2M).
Ten of NBC’s 14 NFL telecasts this season have posted an increase in ratings and viewership, with five of those hitting multi-year highs.
The 11.6 rating is the fifth-highest primetime NFL rating this season, with Green Bay having played in three of the top five games.
Through Week 12, NBC’s NFL coverage has averaged 20.0 million viewers (including streaming) — up 9% from last year and the highest at this point of the season since 2015.
Packers-Vikings drew a 6.1 rating in adults 18-49, up a tick from last year (6.0) but down a tick from 2016 (6.2). It also had a 4.6 in adults 18-34 (flat) and a 7.3 in adults 25-54 (+3%).
Notably, the 4.6 in adults 18-34 ties last year as the lowest for SNF in Week 12 of the season since 2005 on ESPN (2.3).
Minneapolis-St. Paul led all markets Sunday night with a 49.0 rating and a 72 share, meaning that 72% of televisions in use were tuned to the game. Milwaukee ranked second with a 43.8, followed by New Orleans (23.4), Kansas City (18.1) and Denver (17.2).
