FOX scored its top NFL rating of the season last weekend.
Sunday’s Week 13 NFL national window, featuring Vikings-Patriots in 90% of markets, earned a 13.5 rating and 23.2 million viewers on FOX — up 13% in ratings and 15% in viewership from last year (mostly Panthers-Saints: 12.0, 20.2M) but down 8% and 9% respectively from 2016 (mostly Giants-Steelers: 14.6, 25.4M).
The 13.5 rating is the highest of the season on FOX and tied as the second-highest overall — matching the previous week’s national window on CBS (mostly Steelers-Broncos). The top mark is a 13.7 for Packers-Patriots on Sunday Night Football in Week 9.
The TV audience is the sixth-largest of the season, with FOX owning five of the top eight.
Despite the strong numbers, the telecast topped only last year as the lowest rated Week 13 national window since 2004 (13.3) and the least-watched since 2012 (23.0M).
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring Bears-Giants in 46% of markets had an 8.7 rating and 14.2 million viewers — up 28% in ratings and 27% in viewership from last year (mostly Vikings-Falcons: 6.8, 11.2M) and up 19% and 16% respectively from 2016 (fr. Lions-Saints: 7.3, 12.2M).
It was the highest rated and most-watched Week 13 edition of the window in three years (ft. Seahawks-Vikings: 9.4, 15.4M).
