McShay says he’s a candidate for Jets front office job
ESPN football analyst Todd McShay is “one of the options” for a position in the New York Jets front office, he told ESPN.com in an article published Saturday. McShay, who has been with ESPN since 2006, is a former college teammate of new Jets GM Joe Douglas.
Television analysts have been in vogue additions to NFL front offices of late. NFL Network’s Mike Mayock left to become the Oakland Raiders GM earlier this year, and one of his replacements — Daniel Jeremiah — was reportedly a possibility for the Jets job when it was still open. Two years ago, John Lynch went straight from the FOX broadcast booth to the 49ers GM job. [ESPN.com 6.8]

Morgan is the first comedian to host the show since Joel McHale four years ago, breaking a streak of three straight years in which the show was hosted by an athlete (Danica Patrick last year, Peyton Manning the year before, and John Cena in 2016).
