Sunday Night Football ratings were middling in Week 14.
The latest edition of NBC’s Sunday Night Football (Seahawks-Rams) averaged a 10.2 rating and 17.88 million viewers, down 9% in ratings and 8% in viewership from last year (Rams-Bears: 11.2, 19.39M), but up 1% and 4% respectively from 2017 (Ravens-Steelers: 10.1, 17.20M).
L.A.’s easy win, which peaked with 19.2 million viewers from 9:30-9:45 PM ET, posted the fourth-smallest rating and audience on NBC this season (16 telecasts). Of NBC’s bottom four games, three have involved Los Angeles teams — the Rams twice and the Chargers once.
Sunday’s game was the eighth of the past 14 on NBC to decline from last year. All four appearances by the L.A. teams have declined (three for the Rams and one for the Chargers).
Including streaming viewership, the game averaged 18.3 million viewers.
Seattle led all markets Sunday with a 41.1 rating and 66 share. Seahawks secondary market Portland was a distant second at a 19.6/37 and Los Angeles third at a 16.0/30. San Diego (14.4/29) and Sacramento (14.3/26) rounded out the top five.
SNF scored a 5.3 rating in adults 18-49 (-10%), the lowest for the series in Week 14 of the season since 2008 (Washington-Baltimore: 5.0). It also drew a 4.0 in adults 18-34 (-9%), the lowest in Week 14 since ESPN last held rights in 2005 (Lions-Packers: 3.1).
