Regular season coverage of the English Premier League is headed to U.S. broadcast television for the first time.
Fox Sports Media Group announced earlier this week that the FOX broadcast network will televise four English Premier League matches this season, including a live telecast on the morning of Super Bowl Sunday.
Coverage begins on September 18 with a tape delayed Manchester United/Chelsea match. The rest of the schedule includes Tottenham/Arsenal on October 2 (tape delay), Chelsea/Liverpool on November 20 (tape delay), and the previously mentioned live Super Bowl Sunday match.
The first three matches will air on Sundays when FOX has an NFL singleheader. For markets receiving a 1:00 PM NFL game, the EPL match will air at 4:30 PM ET. For markets receiving a 4:00 PM NFL game, the EPL will air at 2:00 PM ET.
The tape delayed matches will be available live on Fox Soccer Channel.
FOX will also air UFC and college football specials on singleheader days this season, including a UFC Primetime special on October 30.
The addition of Premier League matches continues Fox Sports’ increased commitment to soccer. In each of the past two years, the network has televised the UEFA Champions League final.
