The downward trend for the NFL on CBS continued Sunday, as the network’s national window was off double-digits compared to last year.
The Week 4 NFL national window, featuring Broncos/Packers, earned a 13.6 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon — down 14% from last year (PHI/WSH*: 15.9, FOX), and down 10% from 2009 (DAL/DEN*: 15.1, FOX).
The 13.6 is the lowest overnight for the 4:15 PM national window since Week 3 in 2009 (PIT/CIN*: 12.6, CBS).
The telecast was outdrawn by the singleheader window on FOX (DET/DAL*: 14.9), marking the third time in four weeks this season that the national window did not earn the week’s highest overnight.
Earlier in the day, regional action including Steelers/Texans drew a 9.3 overnight, even with last year (CAR/NO*: 9.3, FOX), and up 6% from 2009 (NYG/KC*: 8.8, FOX).
So far this season, four of the six NFL telecast windows on CBS have had declines in overnights compared to last year, while the two other telecasts have been flat.
